We encourage ALL God’s people to make it a regular daily habit to connect with God by reading, studying and meditating on His Word. Some, however, have no idea where to begin. Below are some Bible Reading Plans that will help to systematize your reading, rather than just reading random sections.
If you have never read the Bible, we suggest that you begin with the New Testament. Start with the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John). After that, read Romans, and then the rest of the New Testament. Getting to know the New Testament well will help in understanding some of the themes in the Old Testament.
These schedules below will walk you through the whole Bible in differing amounts of time. Find a plan that works for you. Don’t rush yourself. If you try to read too much and get behind, you get discouraged and give up. Take your time. If a plan seems too be going too quickly, try another... or just don’t let the dates bother you.
It may help to find a good “Study Bible” that includes brief comments or references that explain some things that may be difficult to understand. Join a Bible Study with other Christians to further enhance your understanding of God’s Word.
