Located in the northeast area of Indianapolis, near the Geist Reservoir, Holy Cross Lutheran School is a ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  The school first opened its doors in 1991, and has expanded its preschool and kindergarten programs to include elementary through middle school grades. 

Holy Cross Lutheran School is open to all families in our community who desire an excellent Christ-centered education for their children. Currently, Holy Cross serves over 330 students and their families.  Students come from Marion and surrounding counties, primarily from areas located in north, central and eastern Indianapolis (Indianapolis, Lawrence, Fishers, McCordsville, Carmel and Noblesville.)

We are excited to announce that Holy Cross Lutheran School was named a 4-Star school in the state of Indiana for 2013!!! One of only 5 Lutheran Schools in the state.
Four Star = Each year, the Indiana Department of Education recognizes schools that perform in the upper 25th percentile of schools in performance on ISTEP+ and ECA state exams, as well their rating determined by the national No Child Left Behind statute's Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Mission

The mission of Holy Cross Lutheran School is to provide a Christ-centered, nurturing ministry for children and their families, with an emphasis on academic excellence.

Elementary School

Holy Cross Lutheran School has expanded its ministry to include elementary school through grade 7 for beginning with the 2012-2013 school year.

Kindergarten

Holy Cross offers two different kindergarten programs to meet the needs of individual students and their families

Preschool

Since 1991, Holy Cross Lutheran Church has been bringing its ministry to young children and parents of our community.

Before/After School Care

Available to potty-trained students 3 years of age and older.

Summer Day Camp

A 6-week program during the summer (June & July) that is filled with many fun and exciting learning activities and Bible stories, for children ages 3 through Kindergarten.

Accreditation

Holy Cross Lutheran School is accredited through the Indiana Department of Education and through National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA).

Standardized Testing

Holy Cross Lutheran School administers the ISTEP+ test for students beginning in the third grade, and we partner with the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) for our student assessments.

Chapel

Chapel services for all elementary (kindergarten and above) students are held in the church every Wednesday at 9:00 AM.

Enrollment

Application and enrollment information for the upcoming school year is made available in early January.  Open enrollment for new students begins in mid-January, following re-enrollment of current students and their siblings.

Holy Cross Lutheran School is a congregationally supported, educational ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Dress Code

Holy Cross has an official dress code policy for the elementary school, the kindergarten and the preschool.

The library is open on a regular weekday schedule, and the card catalog is available online.
